Cliff's Career on Television

"This isn't exactly a stable business. It's like trying to stand up in a canoe with your pants down."

Cliff Robertson's contributions to television drama have been widely recognized. He received an EMMY as Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in Chrysler Theater's The Game, and was nominated for the same award for his performance in U.S. Steel Hour's The Two Worlds of Charlie Brown. He reprised this role in the movie, Charly, for which he won the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

Cliff also received the Advertising Age award for his participation as the spokesman for AT&T in the 1980s.

His TV appearances have been numerous, ranging from the cowboy, Shame, in the early days of Batman to his appearance as the spokesman for AT&T. He has appeared in many TV movies, among them are: Dead Reckoning, Dreams of Gold, and The Days of Wine and Roses.
