Academy award-winning actor and longtime
EAAer Cliff Robertson will introduce two movies
at the EAA Fly-In Theater.

A formidable roster of notable aviation movies and presenters is confirmed for this year’s nightly EAA Fly-In Theater, presented by Ford Motor Company and Eclipse Aviation.

The free shows, projected on a 5-story screen, begin at 8:30 p.m. from Sunday, July 23, through Saturday, July 29, at the north end of Doolittle Drive behind the Camp Store. A celebrity presenter will introduce each night’s film while moviegoers enjoy the relaxed environment and a great aviation flick.

So bring your blanket or lawn chair, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Here are the confirmed films and presenters:

  • Sunday: Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, or How I Flew from London to Paris in 25 hours 11 minutes (1965), starring Stuart Whitman. (Introducer to be named.)
  • Monday: The Blue Max (1966), starring George Peppard and introduced by Kermit Weeks, EAA board member and owner of Fantasy of Flight museum, Polk City, Florida. Kermit’s collection includes some of the World War I aircraft types featured in the film.
  • Tuesday: The High and the Mighty (1954), starring John Wayne and Robert Stack. Introduced by Eclipse Chairman Vern Raburn, a fan of classic airliners whose company co-sponsors the theater.
  • Wednesday: Air Force One (1997), starring actor, pilot, and EAA Young Eagles Chairman Harrison Ford. Harrison himself will introduce the film.
  • Thursday: The Great Waldo Pepper (1975), starring Robert Redford and introduced by Tom Benenson, senior editor of Flying Magazine.
  • Friday: 633 Squadron (1964), starring Cliff Robertson, a longtime EAA member and AirVenture attendee/presenter, who will also present the film.
  • Saturday: Battle of Britain (1969), with an all-star cast including Harry Andrews, Michael Caine, Sir Laurence Olivier, Christopher Plummer, and Robert Shaw. Cliff Robertson will introduce the film.
