Academy award-winning actor and
longtime
EAAer Cliff Robertson will
introduce two movies
at the EAA Fly-In Theater.

A formidable
roster of notable aviation movies and presenters
is confirmed for this year’s nightly EAA Fly-In
Theater, presented by Ford Motor Company and
Eclipse Aviation.
The free shows,
projected on a 5-story screen, begin at 8:30
p.m. from Sunday, July 23, through Saturday,
July 29, at the north end of Doolittle Drive
behind the Camp Store. A celebrity presenter
will introduce each night’s film while
moviegoers enjoy the relaxed environment and a
great aviation flick.
So bring your
blanket or lawn chair, sit back, relax, and
enjoy the show. Here are the confirmed films and
presenters:
- Sunday:
Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying
Machines, or How I Flew from London to Paris
in 25 hours 11 minutes (1965), starring
Stuart Whitman. (Introducer to be named.)
- Monday:
The Blue Max (1966), starring George
Peppard and introduced by Kermit Weeks, EAA
board member and owner of Fantasy of Flight
museum, Polk City, Florida. Kermit’s
collection includes some of the World War I
aircraft types featured in the film.
- Tuesday:
The High and the Mighty (1954),
starring John Wayne and Robert Stack.
Introduced by Eclipse Chairman Vern Raburn,
a fan of classic airliners whose company
co-sponsors the theater.
- Wednesday:
Air Force One (1997), starring actor,
pilot, and EAA Young Eagles Chairman
Harrison Ford. Harrison himself will
introduce the film.
- Thursday:
The Great Waldo Pepper (1975),
starring Robert Redford and introduced by
Tom Benenson, senior editor of Flying
Magazine.
- Friday:
633 Squadron (1964), starring Cliff
Robertson, a longtime EAA member and
AirVenture attendee/presenter, who will also
present the film.
- Saturday:
Battle of Britain (1969), with an
all-star cast including Harry Andrews,
Michael Caine, Sir Laurence Olivier,
Christopher Plummer, and Robert Shaw. Cliff
Robertson will introduce the film.
