Cliff served in the
Merchant Marine in World War II and saw action in the
South Pacific, the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
“It was a dangerous way to spend the war,” he says, “But
I’m still here. Others weren’t so lucky.” He is a big
fan of today’s servicemen and women, and
created an e-card for AT&T to honor them.
Cliff became the first honorary chairman of the Young
Eagles in 1992. As an aviation enthusiast, he is a big
supporter of the program.

An accomplished diver, Cliff was a friend of Mel
Fisher's for 30 years and also played him in the
made-for-television movie, Dreams of Gold. He is
currently an honorary board member of the
Mel
Fisher Maritime Museum.
